Cards for Special Occasions

I was very inspired today to create several cards.  I actually made a total of three using different pattern papers.  They each have a unique style to them, but very elegant in their own way.
My first card is for a special MOM, and my mom is my little angel but it's something that she would have loved and enjoyed.  It's approximately 5 1/2  x 5 1/2" and I used Old Stack from DCWV and of course White Pearl Swirls from Want2Scrap and some wooden buttons.

I distressed the edges of the pattern paper and used a travel stamp to give more details to paper stack.
Now what mom wouldn't love this card!

The next card is using My Mind Eye's Pattern Paper, buttons, flowers, ribbon, and
Want2Scrap
Tricycle Chipboard
Pearl Nestabling

My last card for the day is approximately 5 x 6" and it's incredibly very gorgeous.  I used a Vintage pattern paper RETIRED from CTMH.  I loved the colors and all the flowers and blings it really pulled this card very well together.

I hope you enjoyed my cards that I created for you today  and be sure to stop by again and PLEASE leave me a comment!

Mini Accordian Album

So, I love many things, and one thing is to make something that is actually chipboard look very crackled and appear like wood.  Saturday during out online class I taught the  ladies from the group how to create a mini accordion album.  We had learned the technique last year, but since we have some new ladies in the group that had not seen the class they wanted me to redo the class.

I love many things: I love flowers, crackle, paint, bling (Want2Scrap), Lace, Butterflies, and buttons.   So my small album is 6 x 6" chipboard has it all, everything I love in one album, how awesome is that!  I applied a dark layer of black acrylic paint let it dry and then applied a coat of Crackle.  Once that dried with a paint brush I applied the light color which in this case I used ivory acrylic paint.

Once, I had that old crackled appeal I began to dress the inside of my album pages.  I used Prima Romance Novel Collection and my all time favorite Want2Scrap!

Here is what we created, I hope you enjoy it!

Here are some of my other accordion albums that I have created in the past.

I can sometimes amaze myself, I really loved creating these albums.  Be sure to leave me a comment!

Anyway, getting back to my shadow box it's 10 x 10" I basically used the same technique that I used to create the treasure box.  Not really difficult to make!  I distressed the paper and sewed the edges to give it a more elegant touch.  The seam binding I totally loved, I can absolutely say that I loved this entire collection.  Two of my ladies one from Puerto Rico and one from Colombia won a few pieces from this collection during our online class via Ustream, so hopefully they will enjoy it as much as I did.

Friday Night's Online Class

Here are the two cards I shared with the ladies on Friday night during our class.  It's always fun to share with the ladies.  The first card is an easel card using Want2Scrap Sewing Notion.

I painted the Want2Scrap Sewing Notion with black acrylic paint and added some bling and buttons to finish the card off.

The next card is approximately 5 1/2 x 5 1/2" and I just Want2Scrap Vintage Fancy Frames and distressed a bit with some off white acrylic paint. Make some rosette flowers out of left over pieces of scrap paper and embellished with Want2Scrap Black Rhinestone bling and a heart shape doiley.  In the center of the flowers I added a small pearl adhesive bling from Want2Scrap.

I hope you enjoyed this project!  Please leave a comment.

Bird Pizzazz

So, as I was creating my cards today, I realized that  had a pattern...a birdie pattern.  It's not everyday that I create cards, but here lately I have found myself creating cards.  Maybe it's because there are a lot easier to assemble.  I'm more like a challenger.  I like to think outside the box and use things that are forgotten, so in general I believe I am missing the Goodwills in Texas. Altering a project is just AWESOME, so I think I will be on a mission.

The following card is approximately 5 1/2 x 5 1/2".  I used Want2Scrap Nestaboard Label 25, Black Rhinestone Swirl, Card Size Charlie Bird Cage, and My Mind Eye Lost & Found Designer Paper.
I can't tell you how excited I am to be able to use Want2Scrap on my projects it just gives any project that extra special touch.

If you haven't already visited Want2Scrap online store, be sure to visit them because they have an awesome sale going on right now 50% OFF all their products, now I don't know about you but that is FABULOUS!!!!  So, stop by www.want2scrap.com and check out their Amazing products!

Charlie Bird

Well, I'm not much of a Valentine's fanatic, so I took a twist to this red and pink event and created a card that is more shabby and not as romantic as your typical Valentine's Card.

The card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2"and it's has some of my all time favorite products.

Recipe:

  1. Cardstock aqua 5 1/2 x 5 1/2"
  2. Score at 5 1/2"
  3. My Mind Eyes Lost & Found 6 x 6 Breeze Designer paper
  4. Kraft paper
  5. Want2Scrap Large Bird Flourish
  6. Want2Scrap Card Size Charlie Bird Cage
  7. Want2Scrap Pearl Adhesive
  8. Tim Holtz Bird Cage Die
  9. Wild Orchard Paper Roses
  10. Chipboard
  11. Glitter
  12. Acrylic Paint
  13. Seam Binding
  14. Distress Ink
  15. Sewing Machine
I cute the layers at about 1/4" from each other to fit perfectly over each layer.  I sewed the edge of My Mind Eye's Breeze Designer paper and distressed all the edges.

I painted the Want2Scrap with Ivory acrylic paint and distressed with Tim Holtz Vintage Ink.  I then used the paper stack to decorate the Tim Holtz Bird Cage which I cut also in Chipboard.  Once I distress the Large Bird Flourish from Want2Scrap, I adhered glitter to give it a different texture.

Finally, I assembled the card.  This is what I got:

I added a final touch by throwing in some toule.  I hope you enjoy this card.  Leave me a comment and tell me what you think!

Oh La La Paris

I love creating treasure boxes and this following box is something I created for Sakura Hobby Craft!

Its a little of some of my favorite things that NO Girl can live without.  The treasure box is 5 x 8" and it can hold all of our little trinkets.

As you can see I added some finishing touches by sewing the layered Prima Romance Novel Collection.  The sewing technique gives each project just that beautiful elegant touch.

So, just what does a girl need to create a treasure box to hold all your little trinkets, well that is a little something that I will be sharing with your tonight.

TREASURE BOX RECIPE

Outside Box: 2nd Layer
(2) - 7/8 x 4 7/8"
(2) - 7/8 x 7 7/8"
(2) - 4 7/8 x 7 7/8"
(2) - 1 7/8 x 7 7/8"
(2) - 1 7/8 x 4 7/8"

Supplies:

Glue Gun
Scor Tape
Bone Folder
Score Board
Ribbon (4) piece of ribbon at 2" ea
Buttons
Flowers
Want2Scrap Bling
Eiffel Tower Die Cut
Distressing Ink

The first thing you will do it to cut your chipboard and your hinges.  The hinges is kraft paper that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.

You will cut each pieces according to the measurements.

Once you have your chipboard cut and your hinges you will score each hinge in the middle.

After you have scored all your hinges you will adhere your Scor Tape just like you see below.  You will cut the corners in an angle.  Once you have all these scored, taped, and corners cut you will then be ready to start assembling.

For assembling you need your glue gun ready, because you have to make sure that the sides are straight.  Start by pealing only one side of the Scor Tape and attaching one side of the chipboard.  So, go ahead and take out 1 piece of the 5 x 8" chipboard and attach to one side of the 2 x8 " hinge.  See below it should look like this.  Do the same for all four sides!

Hold the sides in place straight, because otherwise your sides will not be straight and it will not line up with the lid.

Go Ahead and fold the corner hinges down like so.

Once you have assembled four sides you are ready to place the corner hinges to reinforce the box. You will then place the trim on the edges of the box like so.

Here you attached the 2 x 8" hinge piece of kraft paper and the 2 x 5" hinge.  This just covers up the rough edges of the chipboard.

You will follow the same instructions to assemble the lid of the box.
The 4 pieces of ribbon that you cut at 2" you will attach in the inside of the box to attache the lid to the body of the box.
See Below:

Now don't worry about how this looks you will cover this with your decorative pattern paper that you would have cut to fit the inside of the box.
Before you do that I suggest you use your distressing ink and distress the edges of the entire box.  Then you can begin attaching the decorative pattern paper of choice.  I cut my inside pieces to be at least 1/8" smaller.  This will make for a great fit!  The outside of the box I used Prima Romance Novel Paper stack collection and I layered my paper and sewed the edges.

Now that you have all this you can decorate your heart away.

I hope you enjoyed this project be sure to leave me a comment.
